THE HISTORY OF OUR ACCOMMODATIONS

The original masterplan for Predator Ridge was divided into three phases. The first phase included an 18-hole golf course, and a clubhouse. The second phase included the beginning of a residential community with resort accommodations, and finally the third phase, a second 18-hole course.

THE PEREGRINE COTTAGES

In 2000, the first nightly accommodations at Predator Ridge, the Peregrine Cottages, opened for nightly rentals just in time to host spectators of the Export ‘A’ Skins Game. These charming cottages were particularly popular as the winding roads they line are walking and cart traffic only, creating a quaint and quiet vacation experience.

The large patios and living spaces make these cottages the perfect atmosphere to host family and friends. A few buyers purchased a cottage purely for personal use but the majority took advantage of Predator Ridge’s managed rental program.

The Peregrine Cottages are configured as 2-bedroom cottages each with a full kitchen, living area, 2.5 bathrooms and large balcony or patio. Staying in a Peregrine Cottage gives you easy access to our trail system, private pool with BBQ area exclusive to cottage owners and guests and all cottages are a quick walk away from the heart of the resort.

FALCON POINT VACATION HOMES

In 2001, construction of the Falcon Point Vacation Homes started. Many of these homes were sold as one-sixth fractional ownership, allowing homeowners to enjoy luxury living at a fraction of the cost. The Falcon Point Vacation Homes were added into our accommodation program in 2002.

Located adjacent to the 17th fairway on the Ridge Course, these vacation homes offer excellent views with one, two and three bedroom cottages ranging from 600 to 1500 sq. ft. of private accommodations.

LODGE BUILDINGS

In August 2003, the first two buildings in the new $30 million lodge and spa complex were sold as presales, and by the summer of 2004, the first of the 3 lodge buildings, featuring an Aveda Spa & Salon, was built. Lodge units range from 500-1,100sq.ft. in size and offer studio to two-bedroom floorplan options.

The lodge buildings were designed to become the anchor and heart of all resort activity, “There is a demand for a place right on the golf course that has all the bells and whistles.” said Ian MacLeod, former Predator Ridge Development Sales Manager. Demand for these new lodge units was high, so high in fact, all 24 units in Lodge Building One sold out in less than an hour. Due to the high volume of demand, an additional 27 units in the second building were then released and sold out that day. “We sold $12 million of real estate in two hours. We knew the first phase would be sold out and it sold out in the first hour. There was a large crowd there, so we released the second building.” states Ian McLeod in a 2003 interview.

The lodge buildings feature craftsman-style architecture complimented by steeply pitched rooflines, striking dormers, and bold gables. The large private balconies offer a comfortable environment to enjoy the rural serenity, and views overlooking what was then our Peregrine Course.

Buyers came from the Okanagan, but also Vancouver, Alberta, California, Washington State and Hawaii. Many buyers were interested in purchasing a unit as a vacation property, allowing them to also take advantage of the rental program when their unit was not being used personally.

Construction on phase two of the lodge buildings began in 2004. The two new buildings with the central lobby between them and the outdoor pool were completed in June 2005. In the lower level of these buildings there was a large space for meetings, and later In The Cup Café was added.

LODGE AMENITIES AVEDA SPA & SALON / COMMONAGE MARKET

The Lodge Building 3 originally featured an Aveda Spa and Salon on its ground and lower ground levels.

The spa and salon featured everything from massages, saunas, and facials, to mani and pedis, and a full service hair salon. The spa and salon was a great place for resort guests and homeowners to relax and unwind.

In 2011, shortly after the opening of Sparkling Hill Resort, the Aveda Spa & Salon closed. In 2013, Commonage Market was opened in its place. The Commonage Market offers general groceries, local Okanagan wines, beers and liquors, local produce and delicacies, sundry items and more. Our Commonage market proudly serves Starbucks®, and a wide assortment of handmade pastries from our Pastry Chef.

IN THE CUP CAFÉ / PALLINOS

The lower level of Lodge Building 1 features a restaurant space which has changed concepts over the years. Opening in 2006, In The Cup Café was our first outlet using this space and was cafe style restaurant focused on being a great spot to grab a coffee and a muffin before a round of golf.

The location is now where you’ll find Pallino’s, our Italian Bistro. All our thin crust pizzas, baked pastas, fresh daily sandwiches, and other chef-made entrees and breads are created right here, while our meats are slow roasted by our culinary team. A true taste of Italy in the heart of our community!

AFFINITY HOMES

In 2018, construction on a new project called the Affinity Homes started.  This new neighbourhood will featured 10 Fairway duplex homes (approx. 2,500 sq.ft.) offering spectacular modern executive style duplex homes located on the first fairway of the Ridge course hole 1.  Affinity homes are zoned Resort Commercial and Residential, which gives owners the flexibility of living in their home year round or putting their home into the nightly rental program managed by Predator Ridge.  The executive style vacation rental homes were completed in 2019 and were added to our accommodation options in early 2020.
